Name: Hector R. Santamaria
Title: Contract Specialist
Agency: Federal Highway Administration

Education info: (school/degree): The George Washington University- Master of Public Policy; Villanova University- B.S.

What’s the best part of your job (other than the people you work with)?
The best part is being able to support the FHWA mission from an acquisitions perspective. On a daily basis I get to support our program offices and ensure that the agency needs are met through the delivery of good products and services from our contractors.

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?
There was a time when I wanted to be a biochemist. Of the three major sciences, I enjoyed Chemistry the most and saw the value (and fun side) to this field of study. This changed after spending too many hours in the science lab.

What accomplishment from the past five years are you most proud of?
I am proud of having achieved three major milestones- finished college, completed a graduate degree, and started my professional career.
